Garden Tower

Our students have been enjoying the help of Ms. Chris while learning about our grow tower. This tower is housed near our kitchen for all to enjoy. This is an aeroponic tower that we are growing 2 kinds of kale, strawberries, cauliflower, spinach and more. Back in November students planted seeds in rock wool and watched the seeds turn into seedlings. We can't wait to see and taste these delicious vegetables. If you stop by MOMS, you will see a weekly update of the tower in the foyer.

Family Night

On December 6th, we had a winter-themed family night and had a wonderful turn out! Our families got to decorate cookies, drink hot chocolate, make gingerbread houses, and create ornaments. These ornaments were part of service project for residents at Brookside Haven Care Center.

Year in Pictures

Below are some pictures from the amazing year of learning and programing we have had

FIELD TRIP: MADE IN MUNCIE

This last month, our students went to Made in Muncie. They got to pick out one ornament, tile, or magnet to paint. These were made for students to take home for the holidays.

FIELD TRIP: Brookside Haven Center

On December 18th, we had 8 students ranging from 3rd-5th grade go to our neighborhood care center. Students sang We Wish you a Merry Christmas, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, and Jingle Bells. Staff and residents enjoyed singing along with our students. We also delivered around 40 decorated wooden ornaments to residents.

Club Presentations

We ended the year with club presentations on December 15th. Our cheerleading club students kicked off the celebration with a few cheers and some gymnastic moves. Then our art club and robotics club gave a presentation of what they had learned over the last 8 weeks. Next, our MOMs choir sang a few songs for all of us to enjoy. Finally, we ended the presentation with a charcuterie board from the gardening club and Christmas cookies made by the baking club.

MOMS Spotlight: Teachers

We have a wonderful staff of teachers and assistants. We currently have 3 certified teachers and 3 Ball State students as assistants. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them. We have had so much growth in numbers that we are currently searching for 2 certified teachers and 1 assistant. If you or someone you know, is interested in being part of our amazing staff, go to our website to find more information on these open positions.
