A MOM’s Thanksgiving

On November 21st, we had a delicious meal for our students, volunteers, and staff. We had amenu that included a chicken and stuffing casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, salad,and plenty of desserts including mini pumpkin pies. These mini pies were made by our 4thand 5th graders. They cut out the dough, placed the dough in the pans and filled the pies. 

On this day, we also played games in the classroom, discussed and wrote about the thingswe were thankful for, made crafts, and watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS

With the help of our volunteers, we celebrated our 8students who had November birthdays. We gatheredaround, sang to them, and enjoyed cake. They went homewith a little gift from MOMs as well. 

A SPECIAL DECEMBER BIRTHDAY

On December 8th, our co-founder Mary Dollison will be celebrating her birthday. If you see her, make sure you wish her a happiest of birthdays or if you would like to send her a birthday card, you can send it to us at 2023 E Highland Ave,Muncie, IN 47303. We will share it will her! 

We wouldn’t be here today without her love, support andwillingness to serve. 

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

We will be celebrating our November students on December 1st. Make sure to like and follow us onFacebook and/or Instagram by December 5th to find out who we are celebrating. These students are picked not just based on academics but character and growth as well. 

CUB SCOUTS OF AMERICA

MOMs is hosting Pack 189 on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7pm. Enrollment is open year round and open to the public. Cub Scouts accepts Kindergarten - 5th grade boys and girls. Enrollment is $30for the year and $60 for adults who would like to take part as leaders. If you would like to enroll your child, there are child and adult forms at the front desk, just ask us for help if you need.

MOMS SPOTLIGHT: SCIENCE BUDDIES

Our Science Buddies are part of a partnership with Ball StateUniversity. Dr. Rona Robinson-Hill, Ph.D is a member of severalorganizations including the Motivate Our Minds’ board. Herresearch interests are for the Training Future Scientist Program(TFS) to provide authentic science instruction to theunderrepresented students in grades K-5 in Muncie, IN byscience pre-service teachers in SCI 397. She brought 24 pre-service teachers this fall to MOMs to work with 6 of ourstudents or “Science Buddies”. Our students went through thescientific process to answer a question they developed inpreparation for the Ball State science fair. Next semester, Dr.Hill-Robinson will return to help our students prepare for thescience fair in February.
